Copenhagen, November 24, 2015 – 3Shape Dental System™ CAD/CAM software users can now design and manufacture dental restorations using TitaniumBase EV for ASTRA TECH Implant System EV.
3Shape and DENTSPLY Implants have teamed up to enable access from within 3Shape Dental System™ software to the TitaniumBase EV implant solution workflow and original library files. The integration allows 3Shape users to also design and locally mill the implant ceramic component from the TitaniumBase EV restoration using e.max, zirconia, or the material of their choice.
The TitaniumBase EV implant solution combines a screw-retained designable ceramic component with the titanium abutment. Dental technicians can use 3Shape Dental System™ to design and tailor the ceramic component specifically for each restorative case as well as locally mill it. Importantly, the integration enables 3Shape users to work directly with original components for ASTRA TECH Implant System EV.
“We are excited to add TitaniumBase EV components to the implant solutions now available with Dental System™,” says Flemming Thorup, CEO at 3Shape. “Providing easy-access to innovative implant systems like ASTRA TECH Implant System EV makes it easier for dental professionals to work with the solutions they’re most comfortable with and choose what’s best for the patient.”
Björn Delin, DDS, Vice President Global Platform Implant Systems at DENTSPLY Implants, continues, “We look forward to the collaboration with 3Shape, as it enables the dental professional to improve the digital workflow in the dental laboratory.”
Dental laboratories access implant systems, like ASTRA TECH Implant System EV, from within Dental System™ software. The respective implant solution files are then used for implant planning and the CAD/CAM design and manufacture of dental restorations.
3Shape Dental System™ should contact their 3Shape distributor for more information on how to access the TitaniumBase EV implant solution libraries.
