CHICAGO, March 17, 2015 — The American Dental Association (ADA) Institute for Diversity in Leadership is now accepting applications for its 2015 – 2016 class. The Institute, now in its 12th year, will accept 16 participants for the program, which includes quarterly online class modules, plus three dynamic, in-person leadership training sessions conducted by faculty from Northwestern University and Kellogg School of Management at the ADA Headquarters in Chicago.

“The Institute gave me skills and support to cultivate programs to benefit organized dentistry and the communities we serve,” said Dr. Nipa Thakkar, DMD, MBS, and 2013-2014 Institute participant. “I think of the Institute as the gift that keeps on giving as I’m now part of a strong alumni group with a passion for leadership diversity to advance organized dentistry.”

Established in 2003, the Institute fosters personal leadership skills for dentists who come from diverse backgrounds and communities that have been traditionally underrepresented in the profession’s leadership roles. More than 100 dentists have graduated from the Institute and maintain a connection to the program.

For more program information, eligibility requirements and an application form, visit ADA.org/diversityinstitute. Applications are being accepted until April 30, 2015. Generous program support for the 2015 Institute for Diversity in Leadership is provided by Henry Schein and Procter & Gamble. For additional information contact IDL@ada.org.
